איגוד הכדורעף בישראל כואב ואבל על לכתו של נשיא איגוד הכדורעף האירופי (CEV) לשעבר, אלכסנדר בוריצ’יץ’ (Aleksandar Boričić).
בוריצ’יץ’ הקדיש שנים רבות מחייו לפיתוח, קידום וניהול ענף הכדורעף באירופה ובעולם כולו. חזונו ומנהיגותו הותירו חותם בלתי נמחה על המשחק ועל קהילת הכדורעף האירופית.
מעל הכל, בוריצ’יץ’ היה ידיד אמת של מדינת ישראל. לאורך כל שנות כהונתו הוא פעל ללא לאות לקידום הכדורעף בישראל, פתח דלתות לנבחרות ולקבוצות הישראליות בזירה הבינלאומית, ועמד לצדנו בתקופות מאתגרות מתוך מחויבות עמוקה לספורט הישראלי.

“איבדנו היום חבר קרוב ושותף אמת לדרך. אלכסנדר בוריצ’יץ’ היה מנהיג גדול שראה בכדורעף כלי לחיבור בין עמים ותרבויות. הוא תמיד גילה עניין רב בקידום הענף בישראל והיה עבורנו גב תומך לאורך שנים. דמותו, המקצועיות שלו והאהבה העמוקה שלו למשחק יחסרו לנו מאוד בנוף הספורט העולמי. אנו שולחים את תנחומינו הכנים למשפחתו וליקיריו.”

The Israel Volleyball Association is deeply saddened and in mourning over the passing of the former CEV President, Aleksandar Boričić.
Boričić dedicated many years of his life to the development, promotion, and management of volleyball across Europe and the world. His vision and leadership left an indelible mark on the game and the European volleyball community.
Above all, Boričić was a true friend of the State of Israel. Throughout his tenure, he worked tirelessly to promote volleyball in Israel, with a deep commitment to Israeli sports.

“Today we have lost a close friend and a true partner. Aleksandar Boričić was an exceptional leader who saw volleyball as a bridge between people and cultures. He always showed great interest in promoting the sport in Israel and served as a pillar of support for us over the years. His character, professionalism, and profound love for the game will be greatly missed in the global sports arena. We send our sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.”
